When you are in a hurry to get to the bottom of a problem do not try a brainstorming session. It is a fact that the  brainstorming process  takes a lot of time. In the first place, you need to think of possible solutions and also the pitfalls of the solutions that you provide. All this and more will have to be part of the brainstorming process that you need to initiate in order to ensure that some meaningful comes out of the whole session. It is good to remember that the entire process takes a long time to complete.
