What Kind Of Computers Allow For Biometric Authentication?

October 25th, 2008 | by admin |

I am really interested in using biometric authentication to protect the information on my laptop computer. However, I am not quite sure how this works. Can you use biometric authentication with any laptop computer, or do you need to have a computer specially made for this? I have heard about fingerprint scanners that connect via USB cable, so I am assuming all I need is a USB port and the software that would come with the fingerprint scanner. Am I right, or do I need to make sure there is some other software or hardware on my computer for this to work?  Can I also sign things online using biometric signature authentication as a type of e-signature?
