The counselor will guide you in selecting best federal student loan consolidation. The eligibility criteria for getting federal loan consolidation are set by FFEL and Direct Stafford Loan. You cannot get federal loan consolidation if you are still in school. According to the new rules once you leave your school or college then only you are considered for Federal Student Loan Debt consolidation. Private loans will not get federal loan consolidation according to the new criteria.
