What is going to happen to these companies that receive bailout money but don’t pay taxes?

On the news they just said, that a lot of these companies receiving bailout money are behind on their taxes. Some as most 100 million dollars. How can this be? How can they receive money when they don’t pay their taxes? What can be done? What should be done?

This is the US government we’re talking about. Only they would give financial help to companies that don’t even pay taxes.

They’re losing money so have no current tax liability. Many that were previously profitable now have a NOL carryback that will wipe out much of the old tax liabilities.
