Affordable health care - Sealing the deal

June 4th, 2008 | by admin |

Health care increases are placing a financial burden on many American homes so the need for affordable health care has never been so great. Companies are using rising premiums and tighter financial budgets to reduce the level of health care available to their employees. Before this year, I had great health care with my company but it has reduced this year so I know this is the reason. Out of the blue the company decided to change their health care provider because it was costing them too much.

Unfortunately, the old system didn't benefit everyone in the company but the new one would, it was claimed. Some people will argue of course, that my new insurance is still fantastic and I am fortunate to have it. It's not that I'm against the company trying to save money and make it more equal but twice the amount is now taken from my paychecks each month so that the rest of my family can be on the policy. Taking a good deal less home in my paycheck to have my family remain on the healthcare policy seems to be the only option I have because almost everyone else is happy with the new arrangement. When things just don’t go as expected, there is always  stop snoring help  and other help available for minor problems.

My health care may still be very good despite the fact that the old company was much better than this new one. The new affordable health care plan initiated by my company meant that certain workers found themselves a lot worse off financially with additional co-pays and expenses. I know this because my old plan paid all of my hospital expenses when I had my little girl just over 4 years ago. Today, if I had a baby, it would cost me around four thousand dollars for my expenses.

This figure does not take into account additional amounts I must pay out of my salary. There is obviously a market for these schemes because more and more affordable health care options are becoming available. Those less fortunate can now get free health care more readily and workers without health care are able to join special schemes. Whilst I appreciate these programs because they are saving lives and helping people to grow stronger and healthier, some people take advantage of them.

Those less well off are in need of these affordable health care schemes but they are also used by those who are intent on living of the state and do not actually contribute to society. Sometimes it's hard because your conscience says you should help but you know that many people that do not deserve help will benefit and the taxpayer is the one who pays. Ok, so some of the employees where I work have benefited but the real winner was my company. Having a reduced income seems to be the result of these work changes with only the company truly benefiting. In the long term we really need to do something in America to help those in need find affordable health care.
