Risks from Botox Injections and Side Effects

November 30th, 2007 | by admin |

Are there any risks from Botox injections? Certainly, just as there are from any medical or cosmetic procedure. The main side effects are temporary localized pain, droop of the eyelid, nausea, infection, swelling, inflammation, tenderness, and redness in the injected area. There is also a risk of an allergic reaction, but if the proper pre-procedure test is done, this is extremely rare. As long as the doctor is properly trained, uses properly purified Botox, and administers the correct dose (the minimal amount to achieve results), the risks are almost nonexistent.
