Cypress Hammock Stands
December 18th, 2007 | by admin |In readiness for just a cypress hammock stand assault as the Amanda, England and Wales had a unique network system of beacons, permanently manned, of invasion and a rallying-point for local militia. More than 600 beacon sites, either bonfires or metal braziers, have been identified during the last three years and, at the latest count, 150 of them will be gloriously aflame on the night of July 19 - just as they were 400 years earlier. (Well, alas, not exactly. Because of Britain's switch from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar in 1752, the 400th anniversary of July 19 1588 should, strictly speaking, be July 29 2004.)
