Ophthalmic scissors are true companions of an ophthalmic surgeon

June 23rd, 2008 | by admin |

Since my childhood days I have been scared of iron and steel instruments that include everything from nails and screw drivers to knives and scissors. This was one of the reasons why I never liked the idea of becoming a doctor or a surgeon. Initially, I used to get traumatized at the very sight of the needles and syringes but with passing years I learnt to overcome my fear. One of the main reasons behind this was my brother’s interest in the field of medicine. Once he decided to become an ophthalmic surgeon, I had to learn to live with surgical instruments all around the house. My brother uses these surgical tools with utmost perfection but one instrument that fascinates him the most is a pair of Ophthalmic Scissors. He believes that an ophthalmic surgeon’s kit is incomplete without them as they are required in almost all eye surgeries.
